When we are on a plane our safety always comes first because the main goal is to get us from one destination to the next.

There are some individuals who choose to make these trips a little difficult especially since masks are required on the plane.

There are individuals who choose to be confrontational when they know the rules because they believe the rules should be bent for them.

I myself have witnessed a few people who believe that the masks are unnecessary whether they are in a grocery store, cellphone store, the mall, or even the gas station.

There have been a lot of times people see it as something quick going in and out of the store when really it does not take that much for someone to contract the virus.

In an article from Fox 2 News called JetBlue passenger facing $14,500 fine after refusing to wear mask or stop drinking his own alcohol, FAA saysby Megan Ziegler stated

“The FAA says the passenger, who was not identified, refused to keep his face mask on and wouldn’t stop drinking his own alcohol that he brought on the place, which is prohibited.

The flight was on Dec. 23 from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York to the Dominican Republic.

The FAA says the passenger first crowded the traveler sitting next to him, spoke loudly and refused to wear his face mask. That’s when a flight attendant intervened and moved the other passenger to a different seat.

But the FAA alleges the man’s disruptive behavior continued. Despite warnings, the FAA says the passenger continued to take off his face mask and drink his own alcohol.”

During the flight, the passenger was such a disturbance that the captain had to fly back to New York to land the plane because they considered it an emergency.

If a passenger is refusing to put on their mask it is putting the rest of the passengers and staff at risk if they have Coronavirus or if they are sick.

The masks were created to protect individuals from getting each other sick and it is not that hard to abide by the rules for a short flight.

The passenger not only refused to wear a mask but, the passenger refused to put on a seatbelt during the flight. He also brought his own alcohol on the plane.

With that being said the passenger may have been too intoxicated to follow directions, and if that was the case he did not need to be on the plane at all.

Following the proper protocol is not only saving the passengers’ life but the lives around them as well if the plane were to crash.

The passenger that refused to follow the rules or directions is now facing a huge fine which could have been avoided if they just would have followed the rules.

Rules are not put in place for the fun of it but, rules are put in place to protect people, this pandemic has shown how people really are.

People that are refusing to wear masks are putting a lot of individuals at risk to get sick and become severely ill and I see that as being selfish.

The airports try their best to keep everyone safe and make sure everyone is comfortable during the plane ride even with the restrictions that we have to endure during the pandemic.

The worse thing someone can do is make someone else’s job harder by starting an argument or refusing to follow directions.

During the pandemic have you encountered individuals that refuse to wear a mask or think that the masks are unnecessary?
